Top Picks – what we are most excited about in 2026H1!
Outfitting/3D Plant Design
- Common Ribbon for a unified, modern experience: The new Common Ribbon brings a more consistent and modern user experience across Cadmatic applications. By replacing legacy ribbon technology, it improves usability, reduces instability, and gives the different modules a clearer and more professional look and feel. New object actions for Plant Modeller drawings also help speed up drafting workflows, reduce clicks and mouse movements, make it easier to switch annotations between views, and support faster, more seamless editing. The result is a smoother daily workflow and a more coherent product experience.
- Secure COS database communication for trusted data exchange: Secure COS communication protects critical engineering data with encrypted transfers between sites. Each site uses its own unique encryption key, ensuring that data is transmitted securely and safely decrypted on receipt. This gives you greater confidence in distributed collaboration while supporting compliance and trusted cross-site work.
- Smarter piping tools for faster, higher-quality design: The latest piping enhancements help you speed up routine work while improving design quality. Intelligent routing, better reducer and branch handling, automatic reinforcement pads, and clearer design warnings reduce manual effort and help prevent errors. Together with improvements to follow-pipe functionality, nozzle tools, and automated openings, these updates support faster modelling and more predictable production outcomes.
- Easier creation and maintenance of drawing views: Working with drawing views is now more efficient across the board. Key view settings are available instantly, multiple view directions can be created from the same content with minimal effort, and detail views are easier to generate from existing views. Content rule creation and maintenance have also been simplified, making object selection more transparent and view areas quicker to adjust.
P&ID
- eShare Markups in P&ID: Markups that have been attached to diagrams in eShare can now be conveniently browsed directly in the P&ID user interface. This allows diagram designers to receive instant review feedback and access the full markup by opening it in eShare in a web browser.
Hull
- Hole Request Manager for better coordination between disciplines: The new Hole Request Manager makes it easier to manage new and changed hole requests coming from Outfitting. You can quickly check statuses, review changes, and see what actions are needed, all in one place. With customizable views and easy filtering, the tool saves time in rework and production checks while helping teams stay aligned.
- Hull documents published to Wave for better traceability: Hull documents can now be published to Wave, making it easier to accept, link, and complete requests throughout the documentation process. This improves the quality, traceability, reusability, and validation of production-ready documents, while supporting a more connected workflow.
- Improved Check out / Check in panel for faster follow-up: The reworked Check out / Check in panel gives users more of the information they need directly in the custom columns. With improved search functionality and clearer follow-up actions, it is now easier to find the right items and move tasks forward more quickly.
Information Management
- Document-centric digital twin support in eShare: eShare is now much more usable in projects where documents are the main source of information instead of the 3D model. This makes it easier to work effectively in document-driven environments and broadens the value of the digital twin across different project types and use cases.
- Improved logging and telemetry for deeper usage insight: eShare now provides a more detailed view of performance and usage data through improved logging. If you need full visibility into how your digital twin is being used, you can also enable OpenTelemetry data from eShare. This gives you stronger insight into system behavior, usage patterns, and overall performance.
Electrical
- More flexible and efficient markings for higher-quality documentation: Marking renewal takes marking functionality to the next level. You can now create your own marking symbols for objects, including group, position, and free markings, and use dynamic markings with leaders and frames to match project needs more precisely. Mass insertion functions help reduce manual work, while dynamic scaling keeps markings clear and readable even when text lengths vary – resulting in faster design and more flexible, professional results.
- AI for faster product library creation: Electrical helps you save time in product library management with a new AI-powered function to create product models by just giving AI, for example, a product name or technical specifications for what you want to create, select the product and required data, and finalize the import to add the product efficiently to the library. AI functions are available with subscription and COL licenses.
- AI for smarter translation management: AI can now also translate terms effortlessly, helping reduce manual effort while improving consistency, clarity, and alignment with Electrical industry terminology to create higher-quality deliverables in the required language. AI functions are available with subscription and COL licenses.
