What Is COL?
COL is a flexible subscription model that gives your teams access to a wide range of Cadmatic applications through one shared pool of COL tokens.
Think of tokens as shared capacity your team borrows while they work. Open an application and the required tokens are taken automatically; close it and they return to the pool. Ready for the next task or user.
This removes rigid, product-by-product licensing. Instead, you get one shared pool sized to how your teams use Cadmatic across projects.
How COL Works
- One shared token pool for your organization — sized to your simultaneous demand, measured in tokens
- Different applications borrow different token amounts – sizing reflects your typical mix of tools
- Automatic borrowing and returning — no manual allocation, borrow by opening an application and return them by closing the application
- Fits real project rhythm — users can jump between applications smoothly, COL simply manages total simultaneous token demand
- Tokens are recyclable — they are never spent. You keep your subscribed capacity throughout the subscription term

- That means no burndown pressure as teams can free up tokens at any time simply by closing applications — adding more capacity only when project needs genuinely increase.

A smooth transition for existing Cadmatic customers
We know customers want clear, straightforward guidance on how COL fit with their current Cadmatic licenses. The transition path is designed to be simple and predictable, whether you use maintenance, subscription, or rental licenses.
Maintenance licenses
Your perpetual licenses under maintenance continue working as they do today. You can keep using them and you can continue purchasing new perpetual licenses with maintenance or use COL to top up your current configuration.
If you prefer to simplify your setup and get the most benefit from COL, you can convert maintenance licenses into COL subscriptions under a conversion. The plan maps your entitlements to an equivalent pool of COL tokens, with conditions designed to reward the investment you’ve made in your existing maintenance licenses.
Subscription licenses
Existing subscriptions to individual products can continue under their current terms and can be renewed as usual.
You can continue adjusting your existing subscriptions until their next renewal. After that point, new additions—like extra seats or products—will simply be added through COL.
Rental licenses
Rental licenses will gradually transition into COL subscriptions. Rentals can continue until their current end date.
Once a rental period ends, renewals will be done using COL rather than per-product rental licenses.
This ensures short-term needs stay fully supported, while giving you the added flexibility and broader product access that COL provides.
