Cadmatic use in a nutshell

Customer challenge
  • Manage large-scale megaprojects with thousands of activities, avoiding delays and budget overruns.
Cadmatic solution
  • CADMATIC Projects for progress monitoring, integrating 3D models and schedules, and advanced reporting.

Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC) is no stranger to the challenges of delivering large-scale engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects. With around 50,000 employees operating across more than 40 countries, CCC has a reputation for executing some of the most ambitious and complex construction projects in the world. However, as the scale of megaprojects grows, so do the challenges.

Delays, inefficiencies, and budget overruns have long plagued the EPC sector. Recognizing the need for change, CCC embraced CADMATIC Projects to bring greater precision. transparency, and efficiency to their workflows. By leveraging this innovative tool, CCC is setting new standards for how complex projects are managed and delivered.

A forward-thinking approach to digital transformation

Zahi Ghantous, CCC’s Vice President – Construction Support says that their industry has traditionally lagged in adopting digital tools.

“At CCC, we saw an opportunity to improve our performance and empower our teams with innovative solutions. CADMATIC Projects provided the level of detail and control we needed to execute large-scale projects efficiently and on budget.”

In 2023, CCC ran a pilot project using CADMATIC Projects to simulate the management of a medium-sized initiative with over 5,000 activities. Delivered in just one month, the simulation showcased how CADMATIC Projects could integrate 3D models and schedules, track progress with precision, and provide actionable insights. This success laid the foundation for its use at an ongoing megaproject at the ZULUF Onshore Oil Facilities.

With a scope that includes civil works, structural steel supply and erection, mechanical equipment erection, modules erection, piping fabrication and erection, electrical and instrumentation, painting, insulation, and pre-commissioning works, CCC turned to CADMATIC Projects to ensure seamless execution.

“CADMATIC Projects gives us unprecedented clarity by integrating schedules with 3D models and providing real-time progress updates,” explains Christine Mastrogiannidou, Systems Control Specialist at CCC. Its ability to add detailed steps beneath activity levels ensures that we can monitor and adapt to even the most granular aspects.”

The software’s real-time visualization capabilities have proven invaluable, allowing CCC to identify bottlenecks early, optimize task sequencing, and avoid costly delays by streamlining resource allocation and ensuring transparency.

ZULUF Onshore Oil Facilities – mastering engineering complexity

In the eastern province of Saudi Arabia, CCC is bringing the ZULUF Onshore Oil Facilities to life. This ambitious Aramco project includes two gas compression trains, flare systems, and extensive piping networks. With a very challenging schedule delivery date, ZULUF’s scale and complexity demand precision and efficiency.

“CADMATIC Projects allows us to immerse stakeholders in a virtual representation of the project, fostering collaboration and informed decision-making,” notes Zahi.

From clash detection to constructability reviews, the software has enabled CCC to streamline tasks, avoid rework, and maintain a clear connection between the schedule and real-world progress. The result is a level of confidence and control that ensures the project remains on track.

Moazim Ahmad, Cadmatic’s Senior Manager, Middle East, reflects on this collaboration:

“The results we are seeing with CCC are a testament to the transformative potential of digitalization. Together, we are pushing boundaries and redefining what’s possible in project execution.”

Empowering CCC’s success

At the core of CADMATIC Projects· value is its seamless integration with Primavera P6™ schedules and its ability to act as a single source of truth for project data. This integration ensures real-time progress tracking, eliminates inefficiencies, and supports strategic decision-making.

According to Christine Mastrogiannidou, a standout feature is the software’s granularity, which allows CCC to break down activities into weighted deliverables, enabling precise monitoring. Its advanced reporting tools provide deep insights into design progress, material utilization, and potential bottlenecks, empowering CCC to make proactive adjustments and ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.

“Digitalization is the key to solving our industry’s biggest challenges,” reflects Zahi Ghantous. “With CADMATIC Projects, we’re not just meeting expectations – we’re setting new benchmarks for excellence.”

CCC’s work on the ZULUF Onshore Oil Facilities underscores their commitment to innovation and excellence. By leveraging CADMATIC Projects, they have transformed how megaprojects are managed, ensuring efficiency, transparency, and collaboration at every stage.
