Lürssen-Kröger Yard drives digital transformation with CADMATIC eShare

“We began with pipe fitting because it had an immediate impact on production. Then we expanded its use with support from Cadmatic’s team.”

Production Planner
Lürssen-Kröger Yard, a leading yacht builder known for its high-quality craftsmanship and innovation, is always looking for smarter ways to work. To boost efficiency and improve project data management, they turned to CADMATIC eShare.
We recently caught up with Lürssen’s team to hear how eShare has transformed their workflows, the challenges they tackled along the way, and what’s next on their digital roadmap.
Scattered data a struggle before eShare
Before adopting eShare, finding the right project data was a time-consuming challenge. Niklas Nebel, Production Planner at Lürssen-Kröger, describes the daily struggle:
“We had to manually check 3D models, retrieve object details, cross-reference ERP systems, and verify orders. It involved a lot of searching!”
Marko Frankola, Machinery Detail Designer at Lürssen-Kröger, agrees, and highlights inefficiencies related to disconnected systems.
“We used to copy-paste information between multiple platforms. Now, with eShare, everything is connected – ERP systems, drawings, 3D models – all in one place,” says Marko.
The eShare journey: From exploration to full integration
Lürssen-Kröger first explored eShare five years ago but felt it wasn’t the right time. As their production processes evolved, the need for a more integrated solution became clear. Around three and a half years ago, they made the full transition, starting with pipe fitting – a quick-win area for production.
“We began with pipe fitting because it had an immediate impact on production. Then we expanded its use with support from Cadmatic’s team,” says Niklas.
Lürssen-Kröger now relies on eShare for several key functions:
- Real-time status tracking – Keeping projects on track
- Pipe outfitting planning – Just in time production
- Seamless ERP integration – Connecting SQL databases for smooth data flow
- Status shown for external designers– Reduction of high-cost changes
- Custom programming – Tailoring the system to fit their needs
One of the biggest benefits? Speed and ease of access to critical data.
“The ability to jump between ERP data and 3D models without switching programs saves us so much time,” says Marko.
Partnership driving digital transformation
eShare is now widely used across construction planners, engineers, and production teams at Lürssen-Kröger. But some teams, like the design office, still lean on other tools, like CADMATIC eBrowser.
“We see great potential in increasing adoption in our design and construction offices. If they fully integrate eShare, we could streamline operations even further,” Marko clarifies.
Lürssen-Kröger continues to expand its use of eShare, working closely with the Cadmatic team to refine features and introduce new functionalities.
“Whenever we need support, we get quick responses, and many of our feature requests have been implemented over time. It’s a great collaboration,” says Niklas.
Looking ahead, Lürssen-Kröger is keen to connect with other eShare users to share best practices and insights, an opportunity to drive even more value from the platform.
By adopting CADMATIC eShare, Lürssen-Kröger has reduced manual work, streamlined processes, and boosted efficiency. While the journey isn’t over, the ongoing collaboration between Lürssen-Kröger and Cadmatic ensures continuous innovation and optimization.
As Lürssen-Kröger keeps pushing the boundaries of modern shipbuilding, eShare remains a key tool in their digital transformation journey.
